The Company Tonus is located in coastal subtropical zone of Western Georgia, in the district called Guria. Fruitful lands of this region are watered by streams from the glaciers of the Caucasus Mountains, where legendary Prometheus was chained to the rock.

Georgian people always enjoy good health and long life, which was provided by favourable climate and healthy organic food. The keynote of Company's activity is the production of wholefood. In 1995 we laid down two major guidelines of our business:
1) to purchase the raw material only from those farms that do not use chemical fertilises and other toxic agents;
2) to process products without chemicals and conservants.

Tonus is a multi-industry company. It is the owner of the following facilities - Meria canning factory, Ozurgeti brewery, and tea processing factory. Company also owns main share in the rest house "Kolkhida", located at the seaside in Ureki resort, which is famous for unique sand with large content of magnetic iron.

Company's base facilities - canning factory and tea processing factory are located at the same industrial area, close to railway line and the seaports of Batumi and Poti. Meria canning factory was built in 1961. The factory produced fruit juices, canned fruit, citrus infusions, and fruit wines. The production was exported to all former soviet republics. Annual volume of processed fruit constituted 10 000 tonnes. The factory was privatised in 1995. Highly qualified stuff is a proud of our Company. Our specialists received education in different countries and have rich experience in food processing industry.

At present Company's key activity is tea production. Tonus is one of the leading Georgian companies in this branch. We export our products to Russian federation, Mongolia, and countries of Central Asia. Our tea is very popular with our customers because of its perfect taste and tender flavour. Tealeaves are grown in ecologically clean environment in Guria region.

   - to set up joint enterprise to grow and distribute fresh and dry fruits (citrus, kiwi, persimmon, apple, grapes, pear etc.);
5. Fruit juices and canned fruit production
   - Tonus has the possibility to produce natural juices and infusions from orange, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, kiwi, pear, tarragon, mint, etc. The Company seeks interested partners to establish distribution network.
